Our History
Nestled within a charming 10,000-square-foot Victorian home in Hornell, Cozy Cats n' Kittens has been a sanctuary for felines since 2019. Founded by Elizabeth Oliver, the rescue began as a modest effort to help local cats but quickly expanded, especially during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, which saw a surge in cats needing care.
Today, the rescue houses between 47 and 70 cats at any given time, supported by a dedicated team of 6–8 foster parents and numerous volunteers. A standout feature of the sanctuary is the "Leukemia Room," a special space for cats with feline leukemia, where volunteers provide them with love and companionship.
Cozy Cats n' Kittens is committed to the welfare of every cat, offering thorough adoption processes to ensure each feline finds a safe and loving home. The rescue relies on community support through donations, an Amazon Wish List, and proceeds from items sold at Old Town Antiques, all of which directly benefit the cats in their care.
Our Mission
We are a rescue group dedicated to alleviating the pain and suffering caused by cat overpopulation. Our main goal is to vaccinate and spay or neuter cats and kittens. We then hope to find them good homes where they can live long, healthy lives.
Stray and abandoned cats and kittens will be brought in, and on occasion, we will take female kittens from a litter, spay and vaccinate them, and then place them in adoptive homes.
